Night and Day – Milligan Orchestra Concert

The Milligan Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Kellie Brown, will present a spring concert highlighting music inspired by our cycle of days. Selections will include “Nocturne” by Fauré, “Fantasy on Bach’s Sleepers Wake,” “Morning Has Broken,” Elgar’s Chanson de matin, and “Sure on This Shining Night” by Barber. Two music faculty members will also be featured. Dr. Noah DeLong and Professor Jamie Buxton will sing together Cole Porter’s great standard “Night and Day.” Professor Buxton will also sing “Ain’t It a Pretty Night” from Carlisle Floyd’s opera Susannah and Eric Whitacre’s “Goodnight Moon” based on the beloved children’s book by Margaret Wise Brown.
