In honor of Earth Day, the Milligan Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Kellie Brown, will celebrate the beauty and wonder of God’s creation through a musical exploration of the four elements of earth, air, water, and fire. The broad range of repertoire will showcase the many styles and genres that composers who have used to represent the tangible and intangible. Some of the featured works include Gustav Holst’s “Moorside Suite,” Scott Joplin’s “Heliotrope Bouquet,” Leonard Bernstein’s “Make Our Garden Grow,” Soon Hee Hewbold’s “Blue-Fire Fiddler,” and James Taylor’s iconic song “Fire and Rain.”
