There are two new psychology courses in Spring 2025, and one new psychology course in May Term 2025.
PSYC 160: Resilience – This is a one-credit course that meets from 1:00-1:55 on Fridays this spring. We all need resilience to deal with adversity, grow from challenges, and enhance our overall quality of life. This course will focus on applying resilience strategies to your own situation.
PSYC 495: Cultural Engagement: Mexico – This is a two-credit course that meets from 1:00-1:55 on Mondays and Wednesdays this spring (so it pairs well with the Resilience course). This course will focus on two primary components: a) learning about the culture, history, and language of Mexico, and b) a “learning service” model that emphasizes learning about a culture before attempting to engage thoughtfully with it. This course is a stand-alone course, but it is also a perfect preparation for the new May-term course, which is:
PSYC 295: Learning Service: Mexico – This is a one-credit course that will involve a trip to Piedras Negras, Mexico, from May 5-13, 2025 and will involve working in conjunction with CrossRoads Missions. Watch for course/trip details coming soon.
