Milligan Orchestra presents ‘Shepherd’s Hey: A Salute to English Music’

The Milligan Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Kellie Brown, will present a spring concert highlighting centuries of musical excellence from the English repertoire on Saturday, April 9, at 7:30 p.m. in Milligan’s Mary B. Martin Auditorium located in Seeger Chapel.

The Milligan Concert Choir, directed by Dr. Noah DeLong, also will join the orchestra in performing several English anthems, including “The Lord Is My Shepherd” by Howard Goodall, Handel’s Coronation Anthem No. 2 “Let Thy Hand Be Strengthened” and John Rutter’s “The Lord Is My Light and My Salvation,” which will be performed in memory of the late Thomas Crawford, long-time woodwind professor.

The Milligan Orchestra also will welcome multiple guest performers, including Matthew Brickey, organist at Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church, vocal performance major Katie Cochran and Jamie Buxton, assistant professor of musical theatre.
