Milligan Orchestra Concert: Bartok, Baroque, & Bluegrass

Milligan Orchestra Concert – Saturday, November 6, 7:30p.m. – Seeger Memorial Chapel, Mary B. Martin Auditorium

The Milligan Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Kellie Brown, will take you on a musical journey through the excitingly diverse string repertoire. The energetic and driving rhythms of Bela Bartok, one of the 20th century’s most important composers, will thrill you through his Rumanian Folk Dances and Allegro Barbaro. The evening will also include featured guest artists from the Academy of Strings as they celebrate their school’s 30th anniversary. These violin students of Timothy and Kimberly Barrett will join the Milligan Orchestra in performing iconic works for strings by Bach and Vivaldi plus some foot-stomping bluegrass tunes.
