The Student Development Office at Milligan University is seeking a Resident Director for a men’s residence hall for the Fall of 2021. The position is part-time beginning August of 2021, with regular job duties on a 10-month schedule from August through May annually. Reporting to the Dean of Students, the position provides administrative, supervisory, programming, and counseling experiences in a residence hall setting. As a live-in, residential staff member of the Student Development area, the Resident Director works with the students in developing comfortable and safe living environments and assisting individuals in their personal development.
Successful candidates should have a bachelor’s degree with proven experience working with college students in the area of Student Development and personal growth. Previous experience as a resident staff member and experience with work or human relations training is strongly preferred. Candidates should have a demonstrated commitment to Milligan’s mission as a Christian liberal arts university and exhibit a maturing Christian faith. Working conditions require the individual to live on-campus in a men’s Residence Hall, attend weekly meetings, fulfill on-call hours as needed, supervise resident assistants, and be able to walk up-and-down stairs and conduct room inspections.
