Social media has transformed how we communicate today and has become a valuable tool for making connections. For educators, social media can connect their classrooms to concepts, thinkers and learners from around the globe.
Dr. Allysha Martin, assistant professor of Spanish and humanities at Milligan, will present research on how students can use social media to practice second language communication skills and build a community of language learners. Her lecture, “Building Community with Social Media in the Language Classroom,” is part of the college’s ongoing Faculty Lecture Series and will occur on Monday, Feb. 25, at 6 p.m. in Wilson Auditorium located in Hardin Hall. This event is free and open to the public.
