Alfano named ASC Swimmer of the week
Milligan College, Tenn. (Jan. 23, 2013) — Milligan College senior Evan Alfano (Chattanooga, Tenn.) was named the men’s swimmer of the week for the Appalachian Swimming Conference for his performance in last weekend’s tri-meet. The honor was announced by the ASC on Wednesday morning.
“Evan is the leader of this team and our lone senior who works hard every single day,” Head Coach R.C. Weston said. “After a tough stretch of practices, he performed well and helped secure the victory over Lindsey Wilson. It was an exciting meet and was fun for the team to watch him succeed.”
Alfano led the Buffaloes in the meet against Union (Ky.) College and Lindsey Wilson College. In his individual events, he swam to a first place finish in the 100-meter breaststroke with a time of 1:09.25, and he finished third in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 25.95.
