Milligan College, Tenn. (Dec. 4, 2012) — Milligan College senior Chris Ochieng (Nairobi, Kenya) was named to the 2012 NAIA Men’s Soccer All-American Team as an honorable mention. The honor was announced by the national office.
“We are extremely happy for Chris,” Head Coach Adam Laney said. “He had a great season and collegiate career. Rarely did we play a team where the opposing coach did not say that he would love to have a player like Chris on his team.”
Ochieng led Milligan to their second straight Appalachian Athletic Conference regular season title as he earned AAC Player of the Year and Golden Boot honors this season. The senior led the Buffaloes with 17 goals and 36 points. He also tallied two assists.
Ochieng ranked second in the NAIA in game-winning goals per game (0.350) and sixth with six total game-winning goals, while he ranked 26th nationally with 17 overall goals.
For his career, Ochieng recorded 32 goals, 12 assists and 76 points. He is a two-time All-American as he was selected to the first team in 2009, and follows Milligan standouts Andy Stewart and two-time selection Sandre Wilson as NAIA All-Americans.
Milligan finished the season 11-6 overall and 7-1 in AAC action.
