Milligan’s Ochieng earns AAC weekly honor
Milligan College, Tenn. (Oct. 29, 2012) — Milligan College senior Chris Ochieng (Nairobi, Kenya) has been named the Appalachian Athletic Conference’s Offensive Player of the week for men’s soccer. The honor was announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Ochieng recorded five points for the Buffaloes in two games last week, including two goals on the week. The senior scored Milligan’s lone goal on Saturday against Reinhardt to help the Buffaloes clinch the AAC regular season title for the second year in a row. Ochieng recorded 17 shots in the two games.
On the season, the senior has 14 goals, which ranks him 26th nationally. Ochieng is ranked second nationally with six game winning goals.
Ochieng and company will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 3, after their regular season finale at the University of the Cumberlands slated for Tuesday, Oct. 30, was cancelled.
